TROMPA at winterLAB, meeting on community and the critical use of technology

winterLAB is a program of presentations, round tables and workshops organized by Laboral, an art and industrial creation center in Gijón (Spain). The event is aimed at exchanging community work experiences that foster the creative use of technology and bring the new media for creation and production closer to the public.

Jordi Janer, from Voctro Labs, participated in the event giving a talk about Artificial Voices in the Musical Field. In this talk, Janer discussed issues about singing synthesis in the context of artistic production and other applications for the general public, including choir singing synthesis in the context of the TROMPA project. He also taught a workshop on the use of expressive voices for interactive video games.

These events open to the general public are a good opportunity to bring awareness of the impact of AI/ML into the cultural ecosystem.
